Text Box: I know that everyone is enjoying the new contract system on the Alabama NAWGJ website! It is so easy and expedient.
Now that everyone is visiting the site frequently, we are hoping to make it more “user friendly.” Mary Ann and I have several ideas, but your input is needed as well! All of the Alabama judges are extremely intelligent and I am sure that you all have grand ideas just waiting to share. If you have thought of anything that you think would be helpful on the website or of things that may need to be altered a bit, please let me know. E-mail all of your ideas, suggestions, or questions to me at k2hill@charter.net.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Text Box: NEW CONTRACT SYSTEM

Compulsory Judges Cup 2005 opened the season with the first performances of the new routines.  Thanks to Joel Inman of Greystone Gymnastics and Kathy Chambers of JFJ who opened their gyms to the judges for this annual money making event.  We had around 530 gymnast this year.  We expected CJC to be a much smaller meet but the coaches, gymnast and judges jump right in and the new routines were performed to perfection.  It was very evident that the coaches and gymnast had work very hard to learn the new routines and the judges were extremely impressed with their proficiency.  Many of us attended the Master Workshops in Louisville and Reno and loved the routines but were really concerned with how well the gymnast would dance the routines.  What a wonderful surprise when we saw the Alabama gymnast’s performances.

A first, this year was the attendance of a Florida team who chose to participate in the evaluation portion of the meet.  76% of the Alabama gyms participated and 96 % of the judges volunteered their time.  We are very thankful to the teams who chose to dive into the season head first and participating in CJC.  Each team’s continued support allows AL NAWGJ to provide the judges with the opportunity to attend more educational functions.  So by helping the judges with the expense of attending the national clinics the judges are able to impart their knowledge through their evaluations.  The cycle above is a joint effort of the whole gymnastic community, coaches and gymnast supporting the judge’s money makers and the judges attending higher level educational opportunities which in turn provides a better educated evaluation of the gymnast.  Hand in hand we will continue to provide the best program our gymnast deserve.
